The action plan developed on the 28th of June, by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, in collaboration with regulators, emphasises the need for regulators to go above and beyond in supporting UK citizens. As part of the government’s plan to halve inflation this year, the Chancellor chaired a roundtable with CEOs from the Competition and Market Authority (CMA), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Ofcom, Ofgem and Ofwat to support consumers, particularly the most vulnerable in the financial difficulty. It also highlights the regulators’ commitment to doing more in supporting and safeguarding the interests of the public.
By embracing technological advancements and fostering a culture of innovation, the regulators can enhance the consumer experiences and increase accessibility resulting in a fair, transparent, and competitive environment that benefits all UK citizens. Adopting the latest technologies across UK regulations will be key to accelerating the action plan and achieving the target objectives published by the UK government.
