The challenge for healthcare and social care regulators is not a lack of digital tools; most bodies have them. The challenge is that those tools don't talk to each other. Registration sits separately from casework. Revalidation data doesn't feed into risk intelligence. Inspection findings aren't connected to what the registrant record already shows.

When core regulatory functions such as registrations, renewals, casework, inspections and revalidations are disconnected, it’s hard to build a truly coherent picture of the sector being regulated. Data becomes fragmented, insights are partial, and emerging risks can be missed.
