Rewiring the State: CloudSource’s Role in Transforming Public Services

The UK’s 2025 Spending Review marks a new chapter in public sector reform. A £1.9 Billion Signal

The review places a strong emphasis on boosting efficiency, effectiveness, and value for taxpayers. The government’s vision to rewire the state is centred on three priorities:

• Embracing new technologies to digitise services and transform how government operates

• Embedding a cost-conscious culture that eliminates waste and prioritises value for money

• Building a leaner, more skilled civil service that is connected to the communities it serves

  
  

To support this transformation, the government is confirming its £3.25 billion Transformation Fund, focused on accelerating digital transformation.

In parallel, £2 billion will be invested in AI, following the government's AI Opportunities Action Plan to accelerate the responsible deployment of AI across the public sector.

An uplift of £1.2 billion to the total departmental expenditure limit (DEL) investment is being provided to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to drive forward cross-cutting digital priorities, bringing the total investment in the Spending Review 2025 to £1.9 billion. DSIT will lead cross-government digital priorities and help deliver a Government Digital and AI Roadmap, to be published in the autumn.
